The reason for the engine change was twofold, heavy oil leaks and a compression test showed a significant drop in cylinder number one.

I had stopped lifting engines in and out by hand and have invested in a chain hoist.
I had a rebuilt engine ready and waiting to be fitted.
Not this engine fit but it does illustrate the rope sling in use.
First removing the radiator and panels.
Panels and pedals removed ready tp remove the gearbox.
The gear box removed.
The panel fasteners saved in their correct position, as seen they are not all the same. Also shown a how to do it guide for engine removal off the internet.
Showing what needs disconnecting after the radiator and water pipes have been removed. Remove the fan, they are fragile. Disconnect the battery. Disconnect the choke cable. Disconnect the throttle rod. disconnect the fuel pipe. Disconnect the exhaust pipe.
Items to disconnect. Oil pressure pipe. Starter motor cable. Earth from battery. Live from battery. Undo the four engine retaining nuts.
